Odyssey Reflection

I think that the entire adventure of odysseus is a very interesting thing. I think the fact that Odysseus is so clever is the only reason he makes it home. He also has the ability to stay calm when he sees that his house is filled with people who want to steal his wife away from him. The "I am Nohbdy" trick is still a favorite of mine as well. I believe that if he was a soldier or seargent in the military in modern times, he would be the most successful veteran in history. Some people might even call him an ancient hero, although he did not save anyone and he does not wear a cape. Nevertheless, he is an intelligent, powerful, and unstoppable force with cleverness and instincts. For example, the fact that he thought of the giant wooden stake made out of a tree, and heated it u to blind, not to kill, but to blind a gigantic one-eyed monster, and then use the beast itself to open the door for them. Wow. I felt like I was watching an action movie.

The Odyssey character description

I chose Odysseus to write about because he is the most impotant person in the Odyssey. He is also the main focus of the Odyssey and the most interesting. At the end of  the Odyssey, when Odysseus returns to his kingdom, and his home Ithaca. He meets his swineherd, who is almost speechless when he recognizes who this "stranger" is that has walked up to his home. Telemachus, Odysseus' son, convieniently walks by the swineherders house fro his last journey to find his father. When Telemachus hears the swineherd talk about his father, he threatens to kill him. Odysseus and Telemachus are reunited when Odysseus shows himself to his son. Odyesseus meets Athena that night. Athena makes Odysseus look like an old beggar so he can get into his kingdom and get Penelope back. He does this by getting his son to help him into the palace, then to wait until Penelope was going to decide who she was going to marry. Once he completed the challenge, he was returned to his real form. He then told his son to lock the doors to the exits and that now was the time to "release hise anger" on all the suitors who tried to steal his mother from his father. Telemachus ends up killing all of them. Odysseus then meets his wife again, and everything is back to normal.

Class Expectations

The class expectations were met very well during the first, and so far during the second trimester.  The class expectations included having a good time being in the class, improving reading skills and many other things.
